The whole region of Pelion is full of beautiful villages, varying from size to size. Kala Nera, which means "good water", is a lovely sea resort on the Pagasitic Gulf, just 18km from the city of Volos.
The beach of Kala Nera has been honoured with the "Blue Flag", which is given out by the E.U. for exceptionally clean and beautiful beaches. There are also several other beautiful beaches that you can pay a visit to, which are located just outside of the village. Situated in the neighbouring area of Koropi is the beach of "Boufa", which is actually the largest beach in the Pagasitic Gulf. Kala Nera is perfectly situated to bring you both easy access from the city of Volos, as well as a starting base from which you can explore all of Pelion. Kala Nera is one of the most popular summer destinations in Pelion, and during the summer, there is much activity. There are many places where you can go for a meal or a drink. Pelion is an exceptionally beautiful region of Greece, and has a vast array of plants, greenery and stunning scenery. Kala Nera is no exception to this.
